Based in Sydney at 200 Riley Street, Surry Hills, Freedom Clinical Psychology is quickly establishing itself as a centre for excellence in mental health care.
Dr Steve Mayers and Brad King established Freedom Clinical Psychology in 2020 after many years of working in public and private healthcare systems in different parts of the world. Steve and Brad believe in thinking outside the box when it comes to supporting people experiencing distress. They created Freedom Clinical Psychology so that they can provide the highest quality care for people accessing psychological support in Sydney.
The team at Freedom Clinical Psychology work with people regardless of whether or not they have a label or diagnosis, and support people experiencing a range of challenges, including: anxiety, depression/low mood, low self-esteem, relationship problems, grief/bereavement, psychosis, attachment trauma, addictions and ongoing somatic complaints (e.g., headaches, bowel problems).
The team offer individual therapy which includes: Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) , Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. The team also work with couples, families and networks. All team members have training in Open Dialogue, which was developed in Finland.
